Starfish Cottage- Pretty in Pink (a $7 Makeover)
Just popping in today to share with you a fun $7 makeover I recently did in our Family Room…
With Valentines day just around the corner, I decided to update the cottage this year with a "pop of pink".
Now, I must say that PINK is not exactly my "go-to" color for decorating, but I decided to challenge myself this year…and since I didn't want to invest a lot of money into this new color- I simply purchased a $7 Sanela Pillow Cover from Ikea in this luscious shade of pale pink and paired it with a few khaki and white pillows I already had…
it turned out so pretty…and romantic…and girly- I LOVE it!!!
(Since the "men-folk" of Starfish Cottage don't feel the same, the new color scheme will not be around for long, but isn't it fun to experiment and try something totally new sometimes??)
And since I was going with a romantic and girly look, I added these totally awesome mercury glass candlesticks to the coffee table.
What is it about mercury glass that is so fabulous!? It's just so shiny and fancy feeling!?
These gorgeous glass candlesticks stayed on my Family Room coffee table for about a millisecond- just long enough for me to photograph- you see, they would never make it in the "real world" of everyday life at Starfish Cottage…
but as I said before, it was fun to play "dress up" with the pops of pink and sparkly mercury glass!
Another pretty pink accent is the pitcher of peonies on the kitchen island behind the sofa.
More on this kitchen vignette and the delicious cupcakes soon,
I also have a drop-dead gorgeous "coastal pink" Valentine's themed dining table to share as well, so stay tuned this week…
