Spring 2016 at Starfish Cottage: The Family Room and Kitchen
Last week, I shared photos of our Front rooms decorated for Easter, today I am back with photos of the Family Room and Kitchen with some updates for Spring. Some of you may have noticed some changes to our family room- the biggest change was moving our 16 year old slipcovered sofa to the living room and adding a matching slipcovered loveseat (Ikea Ektorp). Now we have a pair of loveseats and a pair of club chairs- we find this seating arrangement works better for our larger family!
For spring, I added my large (Crate and Barrel Linden) aqua colored pillows to the loveseats and club chairs- this instantly brightened the room! They look especially fabulous when accented with my khaki and white embroidered starfish pillows.
I also brought in my large vase of faux blooming branches…I love how they add a touch of spring to the long media cabinet.
By the way, we are still loving our “ship lap ” accent wall.
Another new addition to the family room is this lovely handmade coffee table.
Our old iron and glass coffee table was an 18 year old garage sale find…the glass was so hard to keep clean and it had really taken a beating over the years, so it was definitely time for a new coffee table!
A friend from our church made this one for me (the best part is that all the profit from the table went to help raise money for their upcoming mission trip!)
We are loving this awesome new coffee table, I will share more about it soon- but if anyone in the Tampa Bay Area needs a rustic, coastal-style coffee table (or dining table) similar to this-contact me!
Here are the spring branches on our kitchen island.
And our sweet raffia wrapped Easter basket filled with robins egg blue eggs and starfish.
Come back later this week to see my first “unset” tablescape…I usually photograph my dining tables set for a meal, this one is pleasantly “unset”!
Have a great week…
