Mountains Trip 2012…
Just because we live in Florida and LOVE the beach, doesn't mean that we don't love the mountains too, so every summer, in pursuit of cooler temperatures and a "change of scenery", we head to the North Georgia/North Carolina mountains for a few weeks, here are a few photos from our trip this summer…
First stop: The river house in Ellijay, Georgia:
The rhodendrum were in full bloom.
The kiddos had fun "river rafting" behind the house…we don't get to do this very much in Florida!
Another memorable day was in Asheville, NC touring the Biltmore House…
We ended the trip in one of my favorite places on earth…Blowing Rock, NC. I have been going to Blowing Rock since I was a little girl. It is a beautiful little mountain town, and we spent the 4th of July Holiday there this year!
The large park on Main Street has wonderfully maintained gardens, as well as great shopping and restaurants!
We loved this little garden statue of a girl reading outside the town's library.
There was even a 4th of July Parade in the neighborhood…so much fun for the kids!
And I could not forget to mention all the wonderful BBQ we enjoyed that week, cooked by our new friend' "Uncle John".
Thanks for letting me share a few photos of our trip with you…hope you all had a wonderful summer too!
