Makeover Monday: Blue and Burlap for Starfish Cottage
I am back with a new look for late July/August.
Well, kind of new.
Almost everything I used for this “new” look I have had for several years, I just mixed things up a bit.
I decided to use pale blues and burlap for a laid back late summer look.
So I paired my old Pottery Barn pale blue jute trimmed pillows with khaki and burlap accents. (You may recognize these pillows from earlier this month, when they were mixed with red and white for a brighter, more patriotic look! Click HERE to see!)
As you must know by now, I have a slight addiciton to decorative throw pillows.
What can I say? Some women collect shoes…I collect pillows!
My blue pillows look great on the white sofa with my old khaki and white striped and seashell printed pillows and my favorite burlap pillow that reads “faith”.
My touch of blue in the kitchen comes from this pitcher of blue hydrangeas.
Hydrangeas are one of my favorite flowers…when we lived in Atlanta, we used to have several large bushes right outside our back door and I would cut them and enjoy them so much. Here in Florida, they do not do very well, so I “clipped” these stems from JoAnne’s Craft Store!
The hydrangea stems are the only “new” think I added, although I had a few already- I just added a few more:)
Here they are relocated to my vintage wine crate on the coffee table, and mixed with woven balls and a white starfish.
This photo shows my slipcovered club chair with the blue and burlap pillows as well.
My tiered shelf has been updated as well!
This is a new photo frame that is now available on my Etsy shop, Starfish Trading Company.
Loving this cool, soft color combo for the super hot month of August!
And don’t you just LOVE burlap?
On Wednesday I will share with you all a beautiful “blue and burlap” table setting!
Hope you all are having a Happy Summer…
