How to Set a Beautiful Thanksgiving Table
With Thanksgiving and the holidays quickly approaching, I thought I would share a few helpful tips for setting a beautiful table…
- Always set the table BEFORE you start cooking, so you are not rushed.
- Start with a beautiful set of classic white plates and glassware.
- Add color and interest to your dishes and glassware with colorful table linens- tablecloths, napkins, placemats, and table runners.
- Add texture to your table with woven placemats and/or textured table linens.
- Come up with clever napkin rings or ties, even a pretty ribbon with a tag printed with your guests’ names, or a holiday greeting.
- Always have a centerpiece or focal point for your table. My favorite ideas include flowers, candles, food on platters or serving pieces, and bowls of seasonal items like seashells, or pinecones.
- Remember to keep your centerpiece low enough for guests to see each other while dining!
- Add a little sparkle with small votive candle tealights scattered around the table.
- For a special surprise, set out a small gift at everyone’s place setting.
- Why not mix things up by setting up a dining table somewhere OTHER than your dining room or breakfast room, maybe eat “al fresco” on your front porch, or next to a crackling fire, or at a local park or picnic area?
Wishing you good luck on your upcoming holiday table settings- remember these tips and have fun with it!
