Classic Coastal Style Bedroom
For this bedroom makeover, my client’s master bedroom had a tropical/”Tommy Bahama” look that was popular many years ago, it was pretty, but a little dated…
Befores:
The valances and draperies were in a busy tropical pattern and a mix of patterns and colors on the bed. My clients wanted an updated look, with a more clean, classic coastal style…
So we kept most of the large furniture pieces like the bed and end tables and dresser, but lightened everything up! Simple but elegant white linen draperies, crisp white quilted bed linens, a soft grey and khaki paisley pattern for the duvet and pillow, then updated the lamps, artwork and accessories.
The bedroom felt instantly new! I especially love the large sailboat photography for over the bed…
The wall opposite the bed got an update with painted shiplap in the niche…and we repeated the shiplap on the tray ceiling as well!
For the entry vestibule, I created this custom pair of pearlized nautilus shadowboxes…
I love the simple beauty of these gorgeous seashells!
As you can see here, the room is not completely finished yet, we are waiting to move the large tv cabinet out and place a large leaner mirror on that wall to reflect their gorgeous waterfront view…
One final look at the bedroom from the other direction- you can see a bit of the shiplap on the tray ceiling as well as a beautiful set of four neutral prints on the far wall.
I just love it when a plan comes together! Now we are busy working on updating their Family Room and Kitchen area as well…stay tuned for those photos as well…
