Blue and White in the Bedroom
To be honest, I think the most “cottagey” room in our house (is “cottagey” even a word? oh well!) is our bedroom…and our bedroom is looking “super-cottagey” this month!! I absolutely LOVE this room and am always amazed at how INEXPENSIVE it was to create!
(The headboard was a DIY- under $100, the nightstands were found on Craigslist and painted- 2 for $50, the distressed black chest is a family heirloom, much of the bedding is from IKEA, the three frames were found at a thrift shop for $15 and painted black, and the artwork is free printables! My lamps were probably the most expensive things in the room! LOL)
I kept all the “big things” neutral so I could change my colors and accents easily with the seasons…
Once again this month, I updated the bedding- using my blue and white stripe duvet cover and shams from last summer and added my pretty blue chintz floral accent pillow for a “summer cottage” look! (I will probably be keeping the blue and white all summer, but we will see!!)
I also updated the three frames above the bed with some more “free printables” blue coral art…
this blue floral chintz fabric pillow is a new favorite, though, I must say! Though its not techinically “coastal themed” it just screams “summer cottage” to me!

Thanks so much for stopping by the cottage today! Wishing everyone a happy Friday and wonderful weekend…
