A Day on Anna Maria Island…
For those of you just joining us, I posted yesterday about our totally amazing recent trip to Anna Maria Island. I told you about the adorable Starfish Beach Cottages, the beautiful beach, but today I want to share with you some of the fun things to do there.
We started our day with breakfast at the Rod and Reel Pier Restaurant (an AMI institution since 1947)
At your table, your view is nothing but sky and sea (and an occasional boat). I personally recommend the Seafood Omelet- yum!
After breakfast, hit the beach for a few hours of reading, walking, sandcastle building, and swimming.
Then when you get really hot and hungry, hit Skinny’s for one of their world-famous burgers.
This is the part of the day when I like to go home and take a nap! (All that relaxing and eating can really wear you out- right?)
After a good nap, I like to head back out and hit a few shops like:
I found this terrific little headboard for Hannah’s room at Ginny and Jane E’s:
After shopping for a couple of hours, head home to get cleaned up for a nice dinner at the Beach Bistro.
And after dinner, take a stroll (preferably with ice cream cone in hand) on the Anna Maria City Pier to see what all the fishermen are catching!
We had such an amazing weekend getaway at the fabulous Starfish Beach Cottages, special thanks to Larry and Erin and everyone at Island Realty.
(At this point in the post everyone should be pulling out their calendars and checking when they can book their OWN trip to the charming Anna Maria Island -I know we are already talking about planning our next trip back!)
Here is their website…
